Growing up in our modern world has a unique set of challenges. Emerging Youth exists to support and empower young people through what can be their most exciting years. We’re here so that emerging teens, from Years 4-8, can flourish as they learn about themselves, friendships, and the digital world in a safe and fun environment.
Emerging Youth was founded in Western Australia, but our programs are available to schools and organisations across the nation and around the globe. No matter where you’re based, we’d love to assist you in your work with young people.

Resource
To equip schools and organisations with programs and resources, addressing current needs in the area of social wellbeing and connection. We provide relevant and interactive learning opportunities for program facilitators through our workshops.

To implement new approaches to program development, making our programs easy to use for facilitators and engaging for students.

To grow the social wellbeing of students, assisting them to build healthy relationships and strong connections both in real life, and online.

Hi! I’m Janina, the founder of Emerging Youth. Thanks for visiting - it's so nice of you to drop by. Take a look around, and you'll see that our passion is for the future generations of Australia (and beyond!) to help them grow by strengthening their resilience, and building their self-confidence and capacity for healthy relationships.

About Janina Cousins
Janina is from Perth, Western Australia, and has been working with young people since 1998. Janina’s work, study and training experiences include a BA in Communications at Murdoch University, Perth; an internship with Youth Dimension in Melbourne; work with SU WA as their Secondary Schools Co-coordinator; as well as Youth Work and Event Management in the non-profit sector. In 2007, Janina joined YouthCARE to work as a school chaplain, and has since obtained a Diploma of Youth Work and her qualification in Adult Education. In 2015 Janina founded Emerging Youth, combining her passion for social wellbeing education, creative communication and youth work. On the home front, Janina and David have been married for twelve years and have two children, and they enjoy travelling, camping, warm weather, good coffee, and spending time with family and friends.
